There is no doubt in my mind that the Fox News Channel presents news with a definite conservative slant. The station defends itself against any suggestion of political bias and insists their coverage is well balanced but the station’s bigwigs are well known conservatives. The president of Fox News Roger Ailes has strong ties with the Republican Party dating back to Nixon years and the station’s owner Rupert Murdoch is one of the Republican Party’ s largest financial contributors.

The roster of Fox anchors includes some of the most extreme conservatives on the airwaves.Want more? Click here/tag Fox News provides a platform for Bill O’Reilly, Mike Huckabee, Greta Van Susteren and Sean Hannity. Fox has even made a place for the loudest right-winger in the nation, the bombastic Glenn Beck. You certainly won’t see anyone from this list hosting a program on MSNBC.

Fox News has been caught in the act of stacking the deck. During Sarah Palin’s book tour it was reported that massive numbers were showing up for her appearances complete with video clips showing exuberant crowds, which the anchor insinuated was live footage. It was later discovered that the attendance numbers were inflated and the video was actually campaign footage from the 2008 election.

The daily news is thought by many to be an unbiased source of objective information. Reporters are expected to report the happenings of the day without interjecting their own views or opinions. The ideal situation for a news channel would be to stick to the factual content. The problem with the news is that remaining unbiased is extremely difficult even though it can be possible. People in general love to give a personal perspective and naturally have their own analysis of the situation.Additional information can be found at http://www.adweek.com/news/television/comcast-sticking-its-guns-fight-bloomberg-133743. The problem is that this creates bias in a news situation. News Channels today are not pure news reporting sources they also showcase a host of commentators who are analysts. The bias becomes evident especially when a channel interweaves news and analysis into one segment or program. For a news channel to become as close4 to unbiased as possible they will have to feature programs that root out the element of analysis, and simply stick to reporting the factual information received. Naturally the downside in such an endeavor is that the program runs the risks of losing viewers, because a program strictly based on fact will be very dry and most viewers will stop watching the program.

Growing up in the mid 80′s and 90′s kid shows were always fun and at the same time taught a very important life lesson. This unfortunately is hard to come by in recent years. Many of the shows today will subject you children to mindless shows that have crude and even inappropriate humor. Many of these kid shows have absolutely nothing to offer your kids in terms of education.

There are a few exceptions to this of course. Many of the Nick JR shows and PBS shows are full of educational shows that kids find extremely fun to watch. These shows incorporate life lessons with education and include colorful and fun themes that any child is sure to love. The best thing a parent can do is to take the time out of your busy day to watch these shows with your children. This can be difficult since the day can be so busy, but doing this can be the difference between your child growing and learning from this entertainment or becoming overwhelmed with crude humor and mindless content.

Sifting through these shows can be extremely difficult but an important part of parenting. Many creators of these shows have taking the time to give us appropriate shows that we can feel comfortable about letting are kids watch. These are the shows we must embrace to keep this trend of education children’s programs going.

Everything from the fruit growing process to the canning instruments – it’s such an integral part of the state’s economy it’s got to be fun to watch!
Montreal Eats: With so many world class restaurants all over Montreal we think it would be great for one of our reporters to eat at them all and host a show!

In a world that is focused on drama among other things, finding a television show that is appropriate for your little one can be quite the challenge. Luckily, there are a few options for those who are looking to escape the normal and find something to entertain the children.

Many cable providers make options available for a child geared household. Parental locks are provided in most cases to ensure that if your little one gets a hold of the remote or is looking for an after school program, they don’t come across any inappropriate content.

Another nice aspect of most cable TV providers these days is that there is more than one network that provide children’s programming. While they may be a bit different from the ones you remember, these shows range from educational preschool level, to the fun filled pre-teen ages. No matter what the age of the little ones in your house, chances are you’ll be able to find something to suit your family.

With all of the drama and bad influences that are advertised in the media today, it is a nice breath of fresh air to know that there are specialized networks and cable providers that care about the protection of your children as much as you do.

As a mother of two growing children, I find myself constantly worrying about what they might be watching on TV or exposed to online. And while I do my best to make sure that they are being smart about what they are watching, I still find myself worrying. This is especially true when it comes to television. To me, it seems like there are so many inappropriate shows on TV these days and it makes me nervous to think that my children could be watching this stuff and maybe even replicating what they see. For that reason, I have recently implemented some parental control devices in the TVs around our house. Still, I thought it would be nice if I could find out the real answer to my question “do safe channels for the family exist?”

So I decided to do a search for some family friendly channels in my area, and I found out about the ABC Family channel. I was really happy when I found this channel because it had all kinds of things, from sitcoms to movies. And they were all appropriate for my family. Now, when the family gets together to watch TV, this is the channel that we turn on.

With all the many cable networks available I still find that my best channel for belly laughs is TBS. I love that I can turn on this network and find some of my old favorite sitcoms, shows that no matter how often I have watched still make me laugh out loud. Shows like Everybody Loves Raymond, Friends, King of Queens or Seinfeld never fail to bring a smile to my face. Other terrific comedies I watch often are Sex and the City and Home Improvement. If you haven’t seen Fresh Prince of Bel-Air in a while turn on an episode and you can see why Will Smith became a huge star.
Another thing that I love about TBS is that they will set aside full nights for a show. For instance Monday evenings are filled with Family guy and Tuesday night is dedicated to The Office. Both are so funny that I laugh out loud all night. Yes sometimes it’s great to find new programs as well as the old favorites and TBS has very funny new shows as well as those old favorites. Late night is filled with terrific talk shows that have top stars. You can always count on a laugh from Conan O’Brien and George Lopez.
